This past weekend, my friends and I embarked on our annual fishing trip to Ucluelet / Tofino on Vancouver Island. A good time was had by all. We caught a few fish and had an excellent time. I’m sure most of us will be back next year, but in the meantime, we have this video to help us to remember a great weekend. 22 of us all made the trip and it was tons of fun. I made a few new friends, caught some fish and enjoyed every minute of it. After a quick half hour flight to Tofino, the kind folks at “The Canadian Princess” fishing resort were there to pick us up and take us on the 15-20 minute drive into Ucluelet. Saturday night found us at the local pub to catch the UFC fights on pay-per-view. After the fights, most of us went to bed in anticipation of an early morning on the boat (6am), and some decided to stay out late and burn the midnight oil. It was easy to determine who was who the next day on the boat, as some of the guys were asleep in the boat while we were fishing. Sunday was our first day fishing and it was a beautiful day with sunny periods and calm seas. Monday however, was rough and raining. Almost too rough. It was like a season of “Deadliest catch” out there. The captain decided it was too rough to fish in the open ‘chuck’, so we made our way into a channel in search of calmer waters. The scenery was incredible. We saw a few pods of whales and dolphins and had quite a tour of the coast line of Vancouver Island. I had a wicked time, and I’ll be back next year. Enjoy the movie.
